Wow, I'm amazed that you did TWO of these a little over a month after having a baby! I'm just trying to hold my house together (not always successfully!); but I must admit to thinking of ways to manage our coming school year while nursing ;). Oh, on the bright side, I don't have to supplement anymore!! I haven't had to for a while--I'm so thankful!

Thank you, Melissa. It took me a few days of doing a little at a time. I finally finished it while my mom and sister watched the kids. We make these each year that the boys start preschool, and they become part of a portfolio for them to have when they finish pre-K. I think it's a neat idea, so I try to get as much info on there as I can.

Glad to hear you don't have to supplement. This baby wants to be fed constantly. How do you leave the house? I'm not good at being discreet, so it isn't easy for me. :(

The posters are really cool and will be nice for the boys to keep and remember what they were doing each year. I wish I had done something like that for my kids, but at this point, I can barely keep up with photos!

All of my babies have nursed frequently until they were around 2 months old, and then could go a little longer between feedings (although not terribly long--I never make them wait to nurse). For the first 6-7 weeks after I have a baby, I try not to go anywhere I don't absolutely have to go. It's no fun going out with tiny babies who need to nurse frequently! Elijah does the majority of our grocery shopping for a little while, and I just really try to stick close to home. Our Japanese student came just as Jacob turned 2 months old, so I have been going more places and it hasn't been as difficult, but still slightly stressful. Re: nursing in public, I am not good at "discreet nursing", either, so I just cover up with my Maya Wrap (a large blanket would work just as well). Some baby stores around Chico sell "Hooter Hiders", light weight nursing cover-ups that look pretty nice (I'm sure they're available online). I've not bought one because I just use my sling, but maybe it would be worth it to make leaving the house a little less stressful?

I can barely keep up with photos at this point too. I'm a little behind, but I use blurb.com to make books for them. It's actually much easier and faster than making individual photo albums in duplicate, and now triplicate. A little pricey, but when you consider the cost of ink and photo paper, it's not bad.

As for the nursing, if I was looking for something I'm not very good at, I've definitely found it. When I say that I have difficulty being discreet, I REALLY mean it. With the boys I had to take my shirt off completely. I've come a long way since those days!
